Cannot set language to English in certain countries, for example Spain

I am a native English speaker and I wish to use English Language for everything in my console, thus enjoying games in their original form without translations, dubs, etc..

However if you set country to Spain, English is not a selectable language option. I must LIE and set the country to another (like U.K.) so I can use the English language. On Xbox 360 this was perfecly possible and used it without any problem.

This is a problem because the Microsoft Market is different and you cannot (should not...) buy the games there, so I must be switching back and forth, and a console reset is required each time.

Is there a feature request where we can ask for this? It makes no sense to limit the language per country, as you have many cases of people living abroad who will have this problem. I've seen in the forums many people complain about this.

I'm sure if enough people reply to this post and ask for it, Microsoft will make the [easy] change.

    :)

  2. Forced Language / region settings

    Hi,

what you say just really doesn't make sense. Delivering region specific content is not based not he language the console is set to. This is just a really bad design.

Example: my phone is set to english language but i have a spanish account for the app store, and therefore access to the content for my region only.

The Xbox allows me to set the Language to English for example and the region to Czech Republic or Greece, but not Spain. It doesn't make sense.

I'd like someone from Microsoft to provide an official statement on this issue.

    Thanks

  3. Language change?

Developers set the language for the region. Supported languages are listed before you purchase the game. If English is not listed then it cannot be set for English. If English is listed there should be an option in the game to set the language.

Buying an XBOX One in Spain but want to play games in English

After you get set up on Xbox One, just go to settings and change the language to English and still have Spain set as your country on Xbox One.

Xbox One (disc) game language support

As far as I know when buying games from stores in your country the language support will be that of your country, like you said if you download from the marketplace it should be following the language you set. There have been known to be problems for certain
people thought for example french canadians where their downloads would be in french where they wanted it in english but their region supported french as a main language.

You cannot change the language? Language policy stupidness?

Its based on your country's offical language support

If there isnt enough market for english for example in japan why spend 100s of thousands of dollars to make an product that sells one or two copies in your country

Locatization helps a game sells more in different markets

If you want more languages change your offical languages in your country

No matter What xbox does If none of your finish games are in english for example whats the point

The language of a region is set by the majority and languages supported by your country
