Cannot Send messages

Ive talk to a Great Xbox supported member who highly recommended that i make this post. Im having issues sending messages on my account we came to the concluion that its due to past behavior. but there isnt any official suspension on my account.So i guess
wont ever be reviewed. Its becoming a burrdon not being able to send messages.

cannot send messages

I cant send messages. From the xbox i get a message telling me to go to: support.xbox.com/fix-messaging which redirects to this page: Why Can’t I Send Messages from Xbox One or Xbox App?

I have followed all steps on the redirect link above, which included adding/updating your phone number and signing in and out on the console. Also, the enforcement page says I have a 'perfect' record, and that i've received no negative feedback.

Trying to send a message via xbox.com says "because of your past behavior you cannot send messages".

Clearly this is in error, as my husband and I are the only two who use the console, we're both middle aged gamers with no interest in online drama. Typical messages sent from my account consist of the occasional 'gg' to a random player or to other real world
friends. So.. again, no history of bad behavior, no unauthorized log ins and no 'bad' messages have been sent.

So why cant I send messages?

Cannot send message

This can happen because of an incomplete account setup.

Try going thought the following steps to update everything on the account.

There's a lot of info here so read through the steps first.

1) Start by going to your account here -
https://account.microsoft.com/profile/

2) Make sure there's a First and Last Name on the account

3) The sign in email address that you used for the account, (don't post that info here) but if you used another email like a @gmail.com email address, make sure you completed the email address verification for the account

4) Where it says Edit your personal info, click on that and update your info there

5) Where is says Edit your billing info, click on that and update your info there

6) Go here - https://account.microsoft.com/security

- under Update your security info click on Update info

- make sure you have a phone and email on your account so you have options to verify or recover your account (You stated you don't have a phone but you'll really want at least two email addresses there)

7) After your account info is all up to date, remove the account from your Xbox console and hard reset it (press the power button down on the front of the Xbox One for 15 sec, then let it go and restart it)

8) Then add your account back to your Xbox One and try to send a message again

Reminder, don't post any of your account info here, your GT is ok to post.

I don't have a phone,is that why maybe?

plus no billing info as no cards etc

I'll go through it and add what I can for now.

Try removing then reloading your profile to see if it will clear it up. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/my-account/manage-gamertag-and-profile/add-remove-account-xbox-one

It didnt. Ive done that twice and cleared my MAC

Sorry to see any issues with your account! That error you're seeing is slightly off. It's not with Xbox, but with Microsoft Account. I suggest trying this
reputation link to unlock your account. It will first ask for a phone number, send a code to that number, then you will put that number into the site's text box. After you submit it, it
will bring you to your profile page. After you've successfully done that, try messaging someone again.

Hey there Preniterrator.

Do you receive an error message when you try to send a message? Also, have you had a chance to check your e-mail for communication on any possible suspensions? Keep us in the loop
