Cannot Selected a drive for install.

I understand that you are having trouble selecting the default installation drive in the Xbox app, but don't despair, I will try to help you fix the problem.

You must follow the following steps to the letter

Repair the drive: If you are using an external drive, make sure it is connected to your PC

Next, open the Xbox app and go to Settings - Installation Options

Select the “Change app default game installation location” drop-down menu and change the folder to the desired drive

You may see a message that says “(Drive requires service.” If so, select "Repair Drive"

Rename the WindowsApp folder: Try creating another windowsapp folder by renaming the windowsapp folder to something else. You should now be able to put games on your D drive or whatever you are using for this step.

Finally...

Reinstall the Xbox app: If the above steps don't work, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling the Xbox app.

The default is installed.

Simply I start at "home" use xbox button, select games and aps, then select "see all games and apps". the box goes to the normal screen showing installed games on the right with the list of items on the left. I cannot change or select anything before the
screen acts like I selected something and goes full black.

As for storage, it is a mix. I am on an original Xbox one from the first launch. Some games are on the internal drive, most are on an external USB drive. This system has worked for years. This problem appeared in the last week or weeks, I was traveling
and prior to that I was working from the pined games.

It is true that Minecraft cannot be installed on to the hard drive. The Star Wars game is an older one as well and more than likely cannot be installed either.

Please, try installing the game to the internal storage.

Insert the game disc into the disc drive.

From the Home hub, select the game in the drive tray, and then press the X button on your controller.

Select Install.

If it's downloading from the Xbox Live Games Store:

On your console, sign in to Xbox Live.

Go to Games, and then select Browse Games.

Select the game, add-on, or game demo that you want to download.

Select Confirm Download.

If it's installing from a disc:

Insert the game disc into the disc drive.

Go to Home.

Highlight the game you want to install with your controller.

Press X on your controller.

Select Install.

Note To play a game installed on your hard drive, the game disc must be in the disc drive. The console will play the installed game from your hard drive, after the console checks for a valid game disc in the disc drive
