Cannot see Online or Any Xbox one friends

This started yesterday but cannot see any of my friends both online and offline friends.

I have restarted console, check all the privacy settings.

I can see my friends on the Xbox one app.

Tried a hard reset of console.

Tried to remove or re-add friends but gives error that it cannot save

Have removed account and re-added account on xbox

I know my friends are online because 2 of them are my sons and we live in the same house.

My sons account works fine on my console. His friends show up fine.

I am on OS version below.

System XBOX one X.

OS version - 10.0.17763.3066

I didn't post the reply as soon as I had the issue. I waited a couple of days, hoping it was a service issue.

Will see what happens. It only happens on the xbox one x. I signed into my day one console and working fine. Like a trusty work horse the day one.

Hey there Trav!

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this difficulty trying to see your friends.

Usually this kind of thing stems from an update not being applied completely or from a miscommunication issue with the console and Xbox Live. In this instance, I would suggest trying what we call a soft factory reset of the console.
It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.

Just make sure that before you go ahead with it, that you do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts(asthey
will be removed) and have easy access to your internet network.

Also make sure that you select the option denoted
reset and keep my games and apps.

Sorry to hear that you had to ask for a repair, I have seen this issue on the insiders program one before, The fix for that is a simple factory reset should help resolve that issue.
