    Cannot save game, Minecraft win 10


    I am playing Minecraft on my windows 10 pc. I cannot save my game. When i close out of the game it doesn't give me the option to save. When i reopen the game again, i cannot access any previous games or saves. It's like I've never played. It erases everything
    i did. What am i doing wrong? Help!

    Thank you so much for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. I'm so sorry you are experiencing an issue such as this and I very well understand the struggle and frustration that comes with one not being able to maintain your save data.

    The reason why your save file is not being retained could have something to do with either your network configuration or perhaps some corrupted files in your game. You can first try to

    re-install     the game and see if you still reproduce the same issue

    Your save data for any games on Windows 10 should be automatically saved up to the Cloud. Minecraft has an auto-save feature that as soon as you exit the world, your world and progress with your character will be saved immediately. However you can alternatively
    you can
    copy your world     to make a back up of it to save locally. Additionally if you are looking for where the

    files for Minecraft     are stored in your PC with this.

    Minecraft for Windows 10 is NOT on Game Pass. Only Minecraft for Xbox is. However, Minecraft Dungeons
    WILL be available on Win10/Xbox on May 26th.

    For this you will need to copy your world and make it available in a forum for download. Regular Minecraft save worlds to %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves\, Windows 10 edition saves worlds to %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\
    LocalState \ games \ com.mojang \ minecraftWorlds. Worlds are saved in different formats so you cannot copy worlds from java based version to windows 10 version.

    this file worked for "C:\Users\Your PC Name\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\games\com.mojang\minecraftWorlds"

    No it isn't. Though Minecraft PE and the Win 10 release are the same version of the game you would need to purchase the Win 10 version by itself. Cross play IS possible between Win 10 and MC PE.

    The older PC version was based on Java and isn't compatible with either the Win 10 or MC PE version as they use a different programming language.
