Cannot restart xbox one after update

Hi There,

I am not able to start my xbox one after the latest update (3.6 GB).

1. 3.6 GB patch got downloaded on the xbox

2. Verification was successful

3. Xbox powered down for a restart, but did not turn back on.

Tried to start the box using controller ...did not work, switches off after 3-4 secs

Tried to start the box with power button on the panel...did not work, switches off after 3-4 secs

Disconnected the power, removed the plug, waited for 15 mins, tried to switch back on...did not work

Disconnected the power, removed the plug, disconnected the power brick connection to xbox, waited for 15 mins, tried to switch back on...did not work

Tried to hard reset the xbox by holding the sync button and eject button and pressing the power button. Xbox starts up in the safe more, but not able to reset as the xbox powers down and stays off.

Not trying an offline update as the issue seems to be with xbox and not the update.

Please help me out with a solution.

Offline update worked!!!!

Had to format my flash drive to NTFS, then the updates started and installed.

Faced the problem of the box shutting down in between, but once it was manually started, the "Apply update" stage resumed.

If even the offline update doesnt work, could be a hardware issue, probably with the HDD. There you will need a repair.

So if the offline update doesnt work I advise you to contact
Customer Support to get a final decision what is the issue, and then if you need a repair you can request to them.

Hi,

I understand you said you don't want to do an offline update as its not the update at fault which is incorrect.

Your firmware has flashed incorrectly to the console which is why you are having the issues you are having and likewise in safe mode.

You have 2 options, 1 being sending the xbox away for repair if its under warranty or do the offline update process.

Personally I would do the offline option as it will get you back online quicker.

Doing an offline update is an option to attempt, unless you are part of the Xbox Insider Preview program, in which case it won't work.
