Cannot remove or add new friends

Hey, MixedRaceGuy! It looks like this issue creeped up again after being resolved previously. The right people are looking into it again. Once I have more information for you guys, I'll post back in here.

 

Misses Quinzel - I'm having the same problem of not being able to add any friends. I'm new to the Xbox ecosystem and play the XBox games on my Windows Phone 8 (Lumia 930).

Some have suggested to install Lumia Denim update but I've already done that. I also have the latest versions of all apps. I cannot add friends from phone and from computer. Why?

 

It's been a month now, which is about how long I've been trying to add a friend on Live. Any updates? I find it interesting that even though it's supposed to have been fixed several times now it keeps coming back...every single time I've tried to add someone
I get this message, even when someone said "oh its been resolved".

 

Hey there, Abaddon2488! I'm sorry so see that you are still unable to add friends! As far as I am aware, we've only said once that it was resolved, however it seems that wasn't the case. Right now, we are asking for users like yourself to send us private
messages with the gamertag that you are having issues adding, and the time/date that you last tried. An exact time is preferred, however if you only remember a range like morning or evening, that will be acceptable as well.

Same issue happening for me. Can't add or remove friends on Xbox, smart glass or online.

 

They had a problem with the latest update that messed up some consoles but appears fixed. You might need to reload your profile!

 

I'm experiencing a related issue. I am able to remove friends from my friends list, but only temporarily. They reappear a short time later. They also stay on my followers list despite being removed temporarily. Why aren't they being removed permanently?

 

Follow up... deleting friends that I previously made on the Xbox 360, within the Xbox 360 friends menu, removed them permanently from my friends list. Unfortunately, they still show up as followers on the Xbox One. I'm not sure if they can see my activity.

 

I am also having this problem (for about 2 weeks now) and figured it would fix itself which is apparently not the case. Has anyone figured out how to fix this?

 

I was wrong there is no problem my friend just hit the wrong button at some point

 

I'm getting the same message... But only on one person I had on my friends list. He just got removed on my end and I can't add him back
