Cannot remove follower

I'm trying to get rid of someone that's following me, blocking has worked in the past to remove followers but this time it doesn't seem to work. Even when they are blocked they still pop up as one of my followers. How do I get rid of this person?

I have posted into a similar topic from a couple of years ago when this same problem previously happened but had no reply so am making a fresh post

I tried to go back and contact the person that helped me last time but the pm section had gone

If someone could help I would be most grateful

I don't even know why this is still an issue. I'm having the same problem with 6 followers I DON'T want. I understand that there are people who love this feature and it's the cornerstone of their so called social lives, but not everyone needs or wants this
feature. If it HAS to be there at least give us the ability to block or shut this feature off. Having the choice would be nice. Thanks.

Sorry to hear this is happening again. Before we can do anything from our end, I want to be sure we cover all the bases on your end. Can you please try blocking the individual from both your Xbox One console and Xbox.com please? And if that still doesn't
work, can you let us know the rough time of when your last block attempt was?

I have just unblocked and reblocked the person on xbox.com, the xbox app and on the xbox one console. They still appear as a follower.

Time is 8am GMT on Sat 11th

Let me know when you want me to pm you the GT of the person I can't remove

We heard back from the investigative team and they requested that you try reaching out to

phone support. Be sure to mention this user, and any others, that you are unable to block. If that is unsuccessful, make sure to get a reference number from them before you hang up and come back here and we'll see what we can do then.

I phoned support and the guy there did not really know how to sort it but he did give me a reference number [Mod Removed]

Last time this was remedied via the forums so am a bit surprised that the investigative team seem no longer able to do something they clearly could 2 years ago

If you could forward this up the chain then I would be most grateful and in the meantime I think I may well write to the head of the xbox division as I really do feel my privacy is being invaded by the constant stream of unwelcome FR and Followers. I appreciate
in a world obsessed with social media that most people don't mind having hoards of people they don't know as 'friends', but for old timers like myself it would be nice to be allowed just to switch off the follower functionality.

Ever since the advent of Minecraft Android edition, I end up receiving dozens FRs or Follower requests every week, and I spend more time blocking than enjoying the console.

Anyway less of my ramblings and I really hope you can find someone at tech support who can delete these unwanted followers.

Update:

Had an email from Customer Support escalating the issue. Then had a reply talking about how I should set up my privacy to not allow followers which did not really elaborate on how that would be achieved though.

A few days later had an email saying they were going to archive my request and so I replied saying that the issue was still not resolved and restating the problem

That seemed to do the trick as the two rogue followers were removed this morning

So thanks for that being done.

No doubt it will all happen again but for now its sorted
