Cannot Remove Device (Xbox One) from Account.microsoft.com/devices page

When I click Unlink, it says "We can’t unlink this Xbox right now​". But I've been trying since April, it's been about 7 or 8 months of it being broken. Can you unlink it for me?

Here's what happens:

When I go to my Devices page, I see a grid of all of my signed in devices. To get the option to remove one, I click the "Show details >" link for the device I want to
remove. Then in a banner at the top is a drop-down called "Manage" with a few options, the last of which is "Remove Xbox". If this sounds like the same screens/menus you are getting, try setting your new Xbox as your home Xbox, then go back to your Devices
page and try again. To do this, see Designate a home Xbox on the Xbox Support site and refer to the section titled "Changing your home Xbox".

In my case I know the system had all accounts removed and was fully factory-reset before I got rid of it.

Great to hear. It's been quite a long time at this point and I know has proven no end in frustration.

I would say that keep a look out for if they re-appear. That would mean that the device still has the account on it and services logged in.

If you see that again, IMMEDIATELY reset your password and, I will say this in every post I can as a personal crusade,

ENABLE TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION if it isn't already.

EVERYONE ENABLE TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION on all your accounts.

So interesting development here today. I had essentially given up. Every attempt to remove it resulted in the error I shared above. But I just went and looked and it was still there, but this time I clicked removed and it actually seemed to work, no error
and when the page refreshed it was gone. No April fools, I mean it, it actually worked.

There was a 3rd xbox here before, now it only shows devices I actually have.
