Cannot remove 4 numbers at the end of my gamertag

I received an email a few years ago saying I could change my gamertag for free and then it asked me to add 4 numbers to the end. I own the original gamertag I want to switch back to...

The only way to remove the numbers would be to change the tag to something else, wait for it to free up in the system, and as long ad no one else takes it by then, change it back. You would have to pay for both changes.

There's already someone with this Gamertag and that's why you're seeing the digits in your Gamertag, to differentiate you from the one who owns the original Gamertag. With the change of the system, nobody is forced to change the Gamertag nor have the digits added to the Gamertag.

If I have the Gamertag ''OriginalTest'' at no time have they added digits to that Gamertag, if anyone wants to have the same Gamertag, they will add digits to that person.

It doesn't force you ti add the digits unless you didn't free up the name in the first place

When uyou nchanged your name those years ago as mentioned someone else took the name and now you are trying to take it back

.once you change your name you free up the name for use it isn't reserved to you

To my knowledge, you cannot change your gamertag without the numbers at the end at this point. It's Xbox's new system, so all future changes will end with the 4 numbers. Also, you only get one free gamertag change per account, so if you have used it already
then you will have to pay $9.99.
