Cannot remain connected to Xbox Live

I am having a problem where I start up my xbox and it will not be connected to Live. I go to the settings to connect, I get successfully connected for no more than a minute at the longest before it kicks me back offline. Nothing seems to solve the problem.
I have tried restarting my router/modem, connecting to the modem directly via an ethernet cable, doing a "hard reset" on the console, and signing out and then logging back in. The internet signal is strong when attempting to connect wirelessly, and connecting
directly to the modem via ethernet makes no difference; I connect for no more than a minute before losing connection again. How can I fix this?

OP, what Owen said. If you don't do the license transfer, you'll have to remain connected to Xbox Live in order to play Minecraft.

Forgot to mention, my NAT type is open as well so that is not the issue.

Sounds like you have tried everything I would suggest. Did it just start and if so have you powered off the console. If not try power down the console using a hard reset and unplugging the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Then plug
it back up and power up the console and test.

If that doesn't work it is probably time for a repair or exchange of the console. Good Luck!

I know you said your nat type is open, but if you have Comcast/Xfinity, they give false open nat types very often. Depending on who your ISP is, you may need to try a dmz or port forwarding.

Unfortunately you cannot delete a gamertag. It can be moved to another Microsoft account or the account associated with it can be closed, but it will remain in Xbox LIVE's system.

I tested my connection, as said everything is ok. Even the Xbox live connection sayd connected.

Problem remains, the error code i get is: 80048821
