    Cannot redeem pre-paid xbox live membership card


    Anyone else having problems redeeming a pre-paid xbox live membership card? I am told there is an issue with the Microsoft servers and they cannot give me an indication as to when it will be fixed.

    Thanks for making your post, just to clarify is the issue occuring with a Pre-Paid Microsoft Currency/ Xbox Live Gold gift card? Or a pre-paid Visa debit card?

    Yes, exactly. The promotion was on the main page of the dashboard, said to receive 600 points, renew membership by buying it directly or redeeming a pre paid card. I redeemed a pre paid card after clicking on the promotional link.

    Sorry to hear it. However, gift cards and Xbox currency cannot be used to purchase Gold memberships. You can only purchase memberships using a credit card, Paypal or a pre-paid Gold membership card.

    Sorry to hear it. Unfortunately currency on your account cannot be used to purchase a Live membership. You would need to use either a credit card, paypal or a pre paid membership card purchased from your local retailer.

    I went ahead and moved your post for better visibility. Just to clarify, did you redeem an Xbox Live membership pre-paid code? Or did you purchase an Xbox Live membership through the dashboard promotion? If you redeemed a pre-paid code, you will not qualify

    If you are purchsing Xbox LIVE using a paypal account, it will need to be connected to either a bank account or a credit card.

    Alternatively, you can purchase a pre-paid card from some retailers and redeem that code for a LIVE Gold membership.
