Cannot quick-reset cache with new dashboard.

I'm not sure where in the xbox one's help it talks about this, because i learned it from someone else.

To reset the cache, you would highlight the game from the dashboard (the same startpoint from which you can quit a game with the start button) and simultaneously hold left and right triggers and Y and the dashboard would visually reset.

Now you cannot hover over the game like before. You instead get "more options" (start button) and the above process does not appear to be functioning.

I was using this all the time to reset the cache after tinkering with mods on Fallout 4.

Also i am aware of a pro player that resets his cache all the time while at competitions, so it evidently is used by people who know what they are doing.

Of course, i am aware of the hard reset function, but that is much less convenient than what i would like to still be able to do...

Turning xbox off issue

Thanks. Resetting the cache solved the issue. So far, resetting the cache has solved all issues i have, only this time i had to unplug the cord for a few seconds for it to fix it. Usually i dont unplug it when i reset, this time i had to.... but its working now so all is good....

 

Weird Glitch

I have had the tv issue where it says it took to long to find the tv. The only thing so far that fixes that issue is the cache reset. You dont need to unplug, cache reset will do the same thing. I find this usually happens if i switch my tv with the xbox one from the xbox to a dvd player using another hdmi port on the tv. When i go back to the original xbox hdmi on the tv, it loses the pairing with the tv causeing the tv took to long error. Resetting cache or unplugging is the only known fix so far. Have not had the other issues you mentioned.

It sounds like what you're talking about is the ability to refresh the dashboard, rather that clear a game's cache. I was still able to refresh the dashboard without having the game menu selected. If you're running into issues with mods in Fallout 4 making
the game run slower, does quitting the game from the menu help? That should reset in the same outcome as what you're describing with clearing the system cache. If this is a feature that you'd like to request again, you can always submit
