Cannot Power On XBox One from Windows 10 XBox App

I am unable to turn on my Xbox One from the Windows 10 Xbox app, receiving the following error message "We are unable to turn on your console. Make sure this device is on the same network as your console and your console is set to instant-on". However,
if the Xbox One is already on, I can connect and utilize game streaming from Windows 10.

I've tried several suggestions. Sometimes they work, but only for a short time. With 1 or 2 day, the problem reappears.

Similar questions have been asked but the most recent one is 2 years old. The response is to check for the latest update which I have done numerous times. The last update was installed within the past week.

Xbox One can run Windows 8.1's new universal apps

CAN run. CAN. Not "will."
PLEASE don't everyone totally freak out about this. Understand that there is a "Universal apps" thing Microsoft is working on, to make it easy to develop apps that run across Windows 8.1, Windows Phone 8.1, and Xbox One.
I cannot stress this enough: This does NOT mean that all those apps in the Windows Store will suddenly show up on your Xbox One.
What this does mean is that developers will be able to deploy an app to Windows, Windows Phone, and Xbox from a common code base. They'll have to make the interface different for the phone (portrait), windows (landscape), and TV (10-foot UI). They'll have to account for controllers and Kinect.

 

Cannot stream on Windows 10, but the Xbox is connected!

So my Xbox One and Xbox One App on Windows 10 are both up to date. I can connect to Xbox One and even control the Xbox One from my PC. However, I CANNOT stream!! When I click on Stream I get a message that either Xbox One or Xbox One App are not up to date
and it cannot stream, however both are up to date.

My Xbox on Windows version is 8.8.15003.00000

Xbox One version is 10.0.10586.1016 (th2_xbox_rel_1510.151118-2147)fre

The reset worked, at least for now. Thank you for your help.

 

Guess the gurus on this site (the ones that live in their parent's basement) don't know the answer why this
has been and continues to be a problem. Quite random for me and always has been. Today It was causing grief, I restarted the Windows XBOX App and then it would turn on and I could stream. Anyways once the gurus clean the Cheetos
and pop cans away from the keyboard area, maybe they can offer some support. "Have you tried resetting your "XBOX One into factory defaults" - [into] funny. Such a recommendation I got from the cable company when my internet was slow in the late 90s. "I would
suggest reinstalling Windows". Like I am going to reset my XBOX and have to download 1TB in games again to fix this problem. What a joke - amateur hour but what do you suspect from non XBOX employees.
