Cannot play on Minecraft Win10 Realms because of how my account is set up

a photo of what you see under family.

Keep in mind that changing the date of your account does not change how old the account is and accounts automatically switch from child to adult at the correct age.

As you can see, I'm an adult account. My birthday however was set as 2002, which it is, but I'm assuming that birthday shouldn't matter when privacy settings allow online play.

Since the first post I've also discovered that I can play online (eg, LAN games and servers) on MCPE/ Win10 Minecraft, but not on realms. Hopefully that helps.

The Birthday when first set indicates the age of the account and governs its age for the rest of the accounts existence. Changing that date later on does not change the age of the account in any way.

If the birthday was set to 2002 this would mean the account is a child account regardless of changes made in your profile and is most likely the reason the account is restricted.

To resolve this you can either have the main account in the family change your

online settings or reach out to
chat or phone with proof that the accounts age needs to be changed.

Once those steps are completed let us know if you still can not play the game properly.

Hello I am experiencing this problem with Minecraft im trying to join my friends realms but it said you cannot play minecraft realms because of how your account is set up. You can change your privacy and online settings in aka.ms/account settings
but it never works i cant find privacy settings anywhere it sends me to xbox support everytime. Please help

I wanted to play Minecraft PS4 servers but when i signed into my Microsoft account i couldn't play servers because of the message that popped up "You cannot play online multiplayer because of how your Microsoft account is set up." please help me resolve
this problem because i have nothing on my account restricting this type of play.

I have the same issue with my children’s accounts. No matter what settings I change, they cannot play with me on my realm.

This is infuriating especially since it’s only affecting minecraft. I can play other multiplayer games with them, though.
