Cannot play downloaded/installed games when connected to Xbox Live

I just fixed this problem. I plugged everything out of my xbox (including plugging out the av cord from the power box thingy). I waited about 2-5 minutes before plugging everything back in and now everything is working fine.

 

i was not affected with this problem of a black screen or the recommendations not loading until an hour ago. all of a sudden i cannot do anything. no games or anything online. offline only and i have tried all steps of troubleshooting. same problem. it has
not worked at all

 

I have the same problem I keep getting a black screen every time I launch a game/demo then it freezes when I try to go back to the dashboard on my xbox live profile. I've tried deleting the profile an re-downloading it..

There is only one way I can get a game working now on my live profile now:

step 1 : Move your live profile to a USB thumb drive

step 2 : Turn off console and unplug the USB thumb drive that has your profile on it

step 3 : Turn on the console an press B (don't sign in to any profile)

Step 4: Launch the game

step 5 : Soon as you hear the disk start spinning and the game starts, stick the USB thumb drive (that has your live profile) back into the console and sign in to your xbox live profile

Yeah, its a pain in the *** but this is the only thing that i find works, simply signing out and launching the game does not work for me.

 

Workaround method steps:

1). Turn off auto sign-in

2). Power on console and launch the game

3). Sign in once inside the game menu screen

Worked like a charm for me

As we continue to look into this issue, we have found a good amount of success while performing these steps in this specific order. Please go ahead and try them out and we'll see if they help at all.

First, power cycle your console (turn the console off and back on).

Next, clear the system cache 3 times in a row.

After that, power the console off, remove all USB accessories, memory cards, Kinect (if attached) and hard drive, then try launching a disc-based game that does not require hard drive.

If that doesn't work, try removing your profile (be sure to remove profile ONLY, do not delete items associated with your profile when asked) and then re-download your profile.

If you're still seeing this issue, here's a couple different TEMPORARY work-arounds that may work for you:

Try unplugging your modem and router (which will power off your network), then power cycle your console again. After that, launch the game/app you're wanting to use while your network is still offline. Once the game/app has launched, plug your modem and
router back in (which will power your network back on), then sign into your profile.

Create an offline profile, power cycle your console, then launch the game/app that you're wanting to use while using the offline profile. Once the game/app has launched, press the Xbox Guide button on your controller, then switch profiles to the profile
you want to use (while the game/app is still launched).

To create an offline profile: Sign out of all profiles, press the Xbox Guide button on your controller, select "Create Profile", select your storage device, select your name, select your appearance, then select "Done".

 

What worked for me was to disconnect the console from the internet, turn it on then reconnect it to the internet.

 

I notice the issue is solved together last weekend..
