cannot play discs/no internet

about a year ago I lost my internet, couldn't afford it anymore. When I tried to play the games offline they wouldn't run. Talked to an expert in support. Explained the issue and he had me reset my Xbox. unbeknownst to me, you have to have an internet
connection to make your Xbox your Xbox and then the games would work. So I unplugged my Xbox and let it gather dust for a year. I bought the Xbox one X and I have about 40 games.I want to play my games. can someone help me, please? I am very frustrated.Thank

I think it's quite simple. Make it "opt-in". If you buy the disc the game can be played off the disc whether online or not. If you choose to install the disc you have to "opt-in", which will mean to play it off the HDD you'll need an internet connection
and the game disc cannot be traded in. Possibly allowing the game disc to be used only on the console with the install to allow offline play.

This way people who want to trade, lend, borrow, and buy used still can. They just cannot install the full game to the HDD.

You need to disconnect wireless aswell to sign in offline. I found that I cannot play Blu Ray or CD discs without an Internet connection. Like, what?

@caddahaulic - no, that cannot work. i would use the disc through the internet check-up and you could use the same disc with offline check-up.

The disc is required to check that you have the game only, the BC version of the game will be downloaded via the internet.

If the disc is damaged and unreadable then try to clean it as best you can, but if it cannot read the disc then you will not be able to install ME2 BC on your XBOne
