    Every time I insert an Xbox 360, whether it is backwards-compatible or not, it does not work whatsoever. Nothing appears on my screen at all. DVDs do not work on my Xbox One either. Xbox One disks work fine. My friends, who also have an Xbox One S, do
    not have this problem. Maybe it has something to do with the disk reader as Xbox One games have a different disk reader than Xbox 360 games and DVDs.

    As an owner of an xbox one s I do play xbox 360 games with backwards compatibility. The simplest way to explain how it does this is this: the xbox one essentially opens up the xbox 360 software to be able to play the games that are backwards compatible.

    Wait, in your tags, it says "Unreadable disk". If the 360 gives an unreadable disk error, it means just that, it can't read the disk.

    If you play an xbox game that is NOT backwards compatible, it will FLAT OUT SAY "THIS ORIGINAL XBOX GAME IS NOT COMPATIBLE". Not "this disk cannot be read".

    Try cleaning the disk. Are there any scratches on it?

    No. Xbox One games cannot be played on the 360.

    360 games can be played on the One if they are backwards compatible.

    The disks will say if they are for xbox one or the 360. Check the disk, then the backwards compatibility list.
