Cannot make console "My Home XBOX".

I'm struggling with this issue and I'm hoping someone can offer advice to resolve this.

When I go into Settings and click the "Make this my Home XBOX" button, it says:

Can't make this your home XBOX

You can only have one Home XBOX at a time, and cannot switch consoles more then 3 times a year.

Let me give a little background.

We have Two XBOX One Consoles in the house; and two Gamertags. One is mine & one is my Wife's, and we essentially play Multiplayer with each other using our consoles. We purchase the games on my wife's gamertag, set her Gamertag as "My Home XBOX" on my console;
and my Gamertag as "My Home XBOX" on her console. This allowed both of us to play any of our games at any time on any console, whether or not the other gamertag was signed in.

This worked perfectly fine, and for the last few months we've been enjoying Multiplayer gaming on our consoles, with each other.

Last week I had some trouble on my console and ended up getting on the line with XBOX Support; long story short - I had to reset my console to "Factory Defaults" a couple of times. Each time I did this, I had re-download my wife's profile on my console and
set it as "My Home XBOX". This process obviously exceeded the "3 times per year limit". After the last time, I'm no longer able to set her Gamertag as "My Home XBOX" on my console.

Because all the digital games were purchased through her account; My gamertag can no longer play those games unless her profile is signed in. That is fine if I just want to play them by myself; however, in order for us both to play Multiplayer like we were
doing before - her Gamertag needs to be "My Home XBOX" on my console. Otherwise her profile logs out as soon as she signs in to her console, and I can no longer launch the games tied to her profile.

The whole point of buying the two consoles is m00t at this point since we can no longer play multiplayer with each on the digital games we purchased on her profile.

All we need is her Gamertag to be able to set as "My Home XBOX" on my console again.

Is there any way to resolve this?

Child access to Xbox Live Gold account

This is not the case. My xbox is set up as my home console but my child cannot purchase games or extensions at the gold discounted price. I also cannot set up a gold account for my child with the current offer in Australia

 

"Make This My Home Xbox"

So my ex friend attempted to hack my account but he failed miserably and I got my account back on time. But my problem is before he tried to hack my account, he went onto my account and put the settings on "Make My Home Xbox". How do I reverse that? Like
how do I stop him from having the games I'm going to have later on in the future?

-I changed the password on my account so he can't get on it anymore. But I'm unsure if he still has my xbox as his Home Xbox. Please help me ASAP.

There is only one way to resolve this, call support.

1-800-4-MY-XBOX

They are the only ones able to reset that counter, and even they can only do that once per year. So if you do it now, bear that in mind when you move home profiles around.

I'm on the phone with them now; how sure are you they can reset the counter once per year? The guy i'm talking to is very doubtful & unsure.

 

Tell him the option is in [Mod Removed], he'll know what I'm talking.

I have been on the phone with XBOX Support since yesterday regarding this issue. After having gone through 6 different reps; and having failed to resolve this issue - out of nothing but frustrating & desperation as a last ditch effort I posted in this forum.

I told her exactly what you asked me to; she looked it up - Hard Reset the gamertag, and I was able to set it up as "My Home XBOX" on my console again.
