Cannot Make Child Account Adult Account

For various reasons, I need to change my childs account to adult so that they can play unrestricted. I have updated the accounts DOB to be an 18 year old and this is reflected on the account. I have also removed the account from the my family. However,
when using the account it still acts as a child account (asks for a parent when signing into xbox, doesn't let you change privacy settings, etc). How can I get this account to act like an adult account? There is no option to "Promote Child Account" when going
to the account settings on the xbox.

Xbox one - Changing Adult Account to Child Account

Adult accounts cannot be made child accounts. Only child accounts can be converted to adult accounts. Not the other way around.

 

Can't purchase free gold game. Your account is unable to make this type of purchase

Adult account can buy anything

Child accounts cannot make 360 purchases regardless of parental permissions from the web

You must use a 360 console if a child account or a parental account has to make the purchase

 

Once a DOB is put onto an account that is the DOB set in stone there is no way to change it to make it an adult account.

You would have to wait till that DOB hits its 18th birthday before it turns into an adult and you would need to have it as a child under an adult account until the DOB does hit its 18th birthday.

 

Changing the DOB on the Microsoft account does not change the date of birth on you xbox account. The DOB on the xbox account is locked in at account creation and cannot be changed for any reason

Agreed, I Hate that so much! I am an 18 year old, Therefore it acts like i'm 10. I wish that they could add an option that could change your age status.
