Cannot login to minecraft launcher on windows 7

Alright so I wanted to set up a server on my other computer which has windows 10 on it. Thus I migrated my mojang account over to microsoft thinking that's what I had to do to access the minecraft launcher. Okay, done that. Now I'm on my Windows 7 machine and cannot login to the launcher using said microsoft account. No amount of searching will help me because everyone is using Windows 10 or 11. No I will not upgrade to windows 10 or 11 because my current version of Windows 7 runs just fine and can run everything windows 10 or 11 can, don't tell me to upgrade. Also if I get a "professional" to answer my question with an automated message (or at least something that looks like one) I will be sorely disappointed.

In essence, I cannot login to my minecraft account using microsoft login on the minecraft launcher, and its on windows 7 so I can't use the "magical" troubleshoot button.

how did you fix this?? i've been dealing with this issue and haven't found any answers (i use windows 7)

I do have the same issue, and i cant upgrade to windows 10. I do have to stick with windows 7. But the problem is that i cant login in anyway. So how do we fix it?

Go to Minecraft.net and download the Windows 7/8 launcher. That should work.

Same issue here, the number of Windows 7 users is big, and here we are reporting this issue.

Microsoft Xbox app is a windows 10 and above only and it seems that the launcher, EVEN THE WINDOWS 7 available launcher tries to authenticate through xbox app for win10+

Can we take legal action against MS that is blocking users that purchased a legal license to use Minecraft ?
