Cannot login and cannot get refunded for live subscription

My son setup up a live account with a year's subscription. The console first console had issues and we returned it. We purchased a new Xbox one. My son cannot remember his password. We have tried the recovery methods. But all recovery options have not worked.
We do not have the gamer ID that was on the first console. We have spent hours on the phone and online with at least five different representativestyles of Microsoft. I was on phone support for this problem on Friday Febury 10 for almost an hour. The chatter in
the background was very un professional and loud. The talkingredients was not anyone helping other customers. I let the representative know twice I could barely hear her. After talking with her she could not help me, I asked to speak to her supervisor. Her
supervisor could not refund our $60 dollars, but after giving him my credit card he could make sure we would not get charged automatically for another years subscription. It makes no sense to me if you can make that change, why can't you refund my money! My
son setup this account up on Christmas day and has never been able to use it after we had the console replaced. So we finally gave up and setup a new account and paid another $60 dollars. This amount is nothing to Microsoft, but to us it is. Very disappointed
with this issue!
