cannot log in on tagname??

spent 3 hours last night talking to support and eventually it worked. Just gone on it again now and it doesnt again!

I am getting the exact same error - I cannot login using my Tag Name ZonkedDawn. It keeps telling me to Restart Console and try again and if it doesn't work, contact support.

Anyone any ideas on how to fix this?

I would first restart the console unplug it from the wall and make sure it's not plugged into a surge protector too. It's only because the power supply is a surge protector and it could cause weird stuff with the console. Also I would suggest removing the
account from the console if it's on the console still. You can check by going to all settings and when in the account section click on the box that says remove account. Now make sure you have the correct email and password to sign in! You don't know how many
people will accidentally make new accounts by signing in with the wrong email and such. After you remove the account restart the console and then sign in new. If you believe you have forgotton your password it will give you a chance when signing in to make
a new one. You just have to make sure your billing info is up to date. Sign back on and it should work then. Removing your profile doesn't mess with any saves or anything it just helps to troubleshoot when you have problems signing in. Let me know if this
helped or not. It also does wonders if you're having troubles with party chat and your friends can't hear you after trying other stuff that didn't work.

 

I have the xbox one elite, less than a month old so I am very new to this, so I had to do a system update yesterday and then afterwards I could not sign into my one profile, the waiting ring appeared and the froze. Powered everything down and left it off
and unplugged over night. next day managed to Remove then Add this profile, but surprise surprise the saved game progress for Fallout 4 is gone, no where to be found. Where can I go to drop this POS off?

 

Can you log into your microsoft account with the profile that keeps trying to load? Sometimes when you have an email that you are using for the account and haven't used or signed on with it for awhile it will look like the account is closed. I'm not sure
why they do that but it's some security thing. And if you could sign in with the other profile and you dont have the license for that game on that profile the saves won't come up. But if it's a disc copy of the game the saves are still going off of the other
profile essentially making you start over again on that profile. Most if not all of the game saves are saved to the cloud now. And as far as taking it back if it's around 2 weeks or less you can take it back to the retailer. If it's more you can call up support
at 18004myxbox and have them do a search for the gamer tag that you are trying to sign in with. They won't consider it a repair under warranty to even get a new one or have it looked at. They'll tell you to use another profile or help you check your game saves
and account to see what's going on.

 

They told me to create a new account. Start over from scratch. Game save and purchases are gone. But for a fee I could talk to someone to tell me how to secure the new account. Close to blowing up the Xbox. Tech support is no help

 

That doesn't sound like help geez! Did they even try to search the gamer tag you are trying to recover?? And can you sign into it from the login.live site? If you can then that account is still active. Also if you can sign into the login.live site and check
to see if it says this account doesn't exist then I would click on the little circle on the rignt top corner of the screen go to my account and then go to security tab. It may be the 2 step verification that is turned on but you can only turn it off when
you sign into your microsoft account. That stupid [Mod Removed - Please do not attempt to bypass the word filter.] two step will mess with your profile sometimes when your signing into your profile. And did you have any trouble signing in
before the system update?? It maybe an issue with the update. I know there was something going on before... But I swear their answer to everything is tell people to make a new account! There should be an easier way to recover accounts if something is going
on with an account. It's all the things you paid for that are tied to that. And where's the Ambassadors to help people on here when they're having problems? Geez Microsoft get with it. That's why hamers are getting angry over things!!
