Cannot load web page to authenticate on college wifi

I thought they had updated the Xbox to allow for web auth for Wifi? Are you able to hit that page on another device to see if the page is working properly? Possibly trying to open it in Edge directly on the console?

If you have to, there is a work around to basically use the MAC of another device that's connected.

Windows Central did a good write up about it a while ago, and should still work.

Ethernet might work, but that depends on how they have their security set up and if they block the connection and/or ports to Xbox Live, but it's worth a shot, unless they specifically told you not to?

The MAC spoofing function is there specifically for this problem; you sign in to the WiFi on another device, a phone for example, then once authenticated, enter the MAC from the phone on the console. The WiFi then thinks that the consoke is the phone.
You will likely encounter issues if the phone and console attempt to be connected to tge WiFi at the same time. So use a device that doesn't need wifi too often!

Try using Microsoft Edge for your browser. Some colleges make you register your console in order to access the internet.

Its quite possible going wired may work, and koe imporatntl itll give you superior performance. If it doesnt, contact your school’s IT dept

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently experiencing difficulties with being able to connect your Xbox console to your current network.

For this, TRAHANATOR, I would recommend MAC spoofing, by going into the
Advanced settings section of your
Network settings. You can then use the MAC address of your mobile device [or a any other device that you have already been authenticated with] on your console.

This should allow you to be able to connect to your school network. Keep in mind that you will need to disable the Wi-Fi capabilities of the devices' MAC address so as to prevent any conflicts with connecting online. This should work
if you are either using a wired or wireless connection, once configured.

Additionally, using only a wired connection may not allow you to connect to your network if the device is still not authenticated.
