    Cannot link to PSN on Minecraft. Live account was deleted and recreated.


    I created a MS account for use with Minecraft, which I play on my PS5. I tried to sign it in on Minecraft and couldn't. I think it said the account could not be found or something similar. I hadn't used it in a long time, so I tried to log in, Microsoft said my account did not exist. I assume it was purged for inactivity.

    I recreated the account with the same address and gamertag.

    From Minecraft on the PS5, I choose "Sign in with a Microsoft account" from the main page of Minecraft.

    I get a URL and code to enter.

    I go to the link in Chrome and enter the code.

    I get a success message from Microsoft (Welcome back, etc) and the message "You're now signed in to Minecraft for PlayStation®. You can now safely close this window." in Chrome.

    PS5 Minecraft title screen refreshes to show a window that says "Failed to login" "Oops! Looks like the Microsoft account you are trying to use is already connected to another account for PlayStation™ Network. Please sign in with a Microsoft account that is not already linked to an account for PlayStation™ Network." with buttons for "Visit Help Page" and "Try Again".

    PSN tells me they have nothing to do with that and can't help.

    Mojang/Minecraft says only Microsoft can do anything about it. Since MS deleted the old account, I would think any related information about this linkage would also have to be gone if it was indeed on a Microsoft server.

    How do I go about actually getting it fixed?

    If you linked this deleted gmail account (that was your Microsoft account) to your PSN account, it cannot be unlinked.

    If you recover this gmail account you can actually unlink it from your PSN account, but once you link a Microsoft account to a PSN account, you cannot link any other Microsoft account to it. Only the original one can be linked again.

    I'm sorry about that and I hope you understand.

    You cannot see on the Microsoft website if you linked your PSN account to it or not.

    Have you ever played Minecraft on your or a friend's Playstation?

    Or maybe have a friend ever played Minecraft on your Playstation?

    I ask because maybe your Microsoft account is not linked to any PSN account, but the PSN account on your PS5 is already linked to other Microsoft account - which makes it impossible for you to sign in and link your current Microsoft account to it.

    To recap, you attached your Minecraft ownership to a digital account that you then deleted. After several years, you realized the mistake and recreated a Microsoft account with the same name, but it didn't have any account ownership for Minecraft

    I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it sounds like that is a mistake you are going to have to live with. When you choose to delete a Microsoft account, you have 60 days to come back and change your mind. After that, it is permanently deleted and we cannot recover it. Creating a new account with the same email address doesn't provide ownership of prior purchases tied to that account because those records are also deleted.

    I'm trying to find my linked accounts so I can try to unlink my minecraft account from a playstation network account so if you can can you please unlink my minecraft account from a playstation account

    it can only be done on psn side as it is connected to their system, but once a microsoft account is linked to a psn account it cannot be linked to another.

    Is this an Xbox Live account or just a local system account?

    If it's an Xbox Live account Recovering will retrieve the information

    If it's a Local system account and it got deleted it's gone just recreate an account with same name everything (saves) should link back except gamerscore/achievements.
