cannot launch the disc game "Fallout 4" on Xbox One

I have (OWN) a disc for an Xbox One game "Fallout 4" and I was able to play it for some time. However, now, when I try to launch and play it, I see an error message with an error code: "To play this, you'll need to buy it. Either your purchase was refunded
or your preorder was canceled, if did not cancel it, please update your payment information. make sure your payment info is current in Settings > All Settings > Account > Payment and billing (0x803f8007)."

Note: The disc is LIKE NEW, in perfect condition, not even a molecular scratch.

I uninstalled and installed it again, - did not help. Hard shut down my Xbox and restarted, - did not help.

All other games (both discs and digital) play fine on my Xbox One... Could anybody help with solving this problem?

Xbox Game Pass subscription? We have seen this issue arise when someone owns a disc copy of a game that is on Xbox Game Pass. We recommend installing the disc game offline then going online to update it. We will provide steps explaining how to complete

How to install a disc game while offline:

Uninstall the game
Go to the
network settings
Select Go offline
Install the disc game
Once the game if finished installing, go back into the network settings and select
Go online
Allow the game to finish updating and try launching it again

Fallout 4 launched just fine...without needing to go into Offline mode. Yet GTA V when just going into story mode...the message keeps poppin up. Fallout 4 is on disc and GTA V is downloaded.

I have a fallout 3 problem myself. I have fallout 3 GOTY, my game disc does not read well on the one but the 360 it reads fine. the dlc disc of fallout 3 is fine and can read on the one.

Because I preordered fallout 4 I got fallout 3 game itself for download but no dlc with it so I put in the dlc disc and the console installed the dlc no problem. I run the game and check downloads and none of the dlc shows up at all not even when I load
the game but it's on my game manager as installed...

Thank you but this is not my issue. I bought the disc for XBox One Edition but cannot launch it. When I insert the disc it just launches the new, Bedrock edition (which was already installed).

For issues with the download/install problem with Fallout 4 it sounds like there is something corrupt the drive or external storage (if you own an external drive). I'm not sure what that issue is as though. If other games install, but Fallout 4 won't either from disc or download, it won't be a hard drive issue. Do other games install okay?

Regardless of how you install a game, disc or digital the console always checks first if you have a digital license for the game. If this isn't found (it takes seconds) it will look for a disc. Digital downloads aren't locked to a specific account. You only need to own the game either digitally tied to your account or on disc.

So, if you have access to an external drive, you could take this to your friends console and either copy or download Fallout 4 to an external drive. Then insert this drive into your Xbox and use your disc to launch the game. This should work.

If you're having issues installing other games you may need to perform a console reset.
