Cannot join MP matches, any suggestions?

Hey guys, been wanting to play some Halo as of late, but every time I load up Halo MCC, the odd time it'll prompt me to download a multiplayer update. When I do that, it never finishes. Longest I waited was an hour and a half-ish.

My other issue is when I fire the game up and go to matchmaking, it takes forever to find a game, and when it finally does, when the game is loading, the map doesn't load. It sits on the loading screen and the loading bar does not progress, it then sends
me to the game over screen where the scoreboard should be and then i'm back in the matchmaking lobby.

Has anyone else had this problem? What can I do to fix it? Halo USED to work for me, sort of, but now it's unplayable.

That doesn't really "solve" much if one cannot Join any Match-making. I did manage to finally Join 1 Ranked Match today. It seems as if the Connection Ping might have something to do with it. This in turn is also what I believe
to be causing the crash from Throwdown.

OP can you still access online MP with the game?, if you are invited to a match can you join one?.

 

I have the same problem, I spend about 3x longer trying to follow instructions for work arounds than I do playing. This evening been at it for 90 minutes and was able to play 2 games. Hard reset and unplug, play campaign for 30 seconds or so, clear the cache
of saved games (this will take a LONG time to download the game data depending on your internet speed. Long time Xbox owner/fan but enough is enough. I think after studying the forums and googling various problems that I know more about support issues than
the support team.....and it shouldn't be that way. I should be playing and enjoying.

 

Try hard resetting your consoles.
