Cannot install Xbox App

Seems like Gears 5 needs to be installed using the Xbox PC Beta App. Please check if your Windows 10 is version 1903 or not. If it is an earlier build the Xbox App does not seem to install. i have this problem with my Surface Book 2 which cannot update to
1903 due to an issue with that build and the surface line. This means i cannot install the Xbox PC app, and as a result i cannot install Gears 5.

The store on a regular computer links to your Xbox App on PC which shoudl allow you to install it.

I have no games installed. The Xbox App is crashing. I cannot install anything because of this.

Please try downloading the app via Microsoft Store instead, not the .exe via Xbox website

And, is your Windows up to date and everything?

Check that please:

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available (Install optional updates as well)

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services and update everything too.

Is this happening on Windows 10 or 11?
May I know if you tried instead downloading the Xbox app using the Microsoft store?

Or which troubleshooting steps you have done so far to fix this, in that way I can advise you different things or how to proceed

the application is present in my start menu, altough not in the control panel and uninstalling it does nothing. Any suggestions about what to do?
