    Cannot install Sea Of Thieves


    Whenever I attempt to install Sea of Thieves, I get the error code 0x80073CF9 and I have been trying for 3 days to fix the issue

    I have done the following:

    - Deleted the regit files

    - Ran wsreset

    - Updated windows (there were no updates)

    - Updated all my drivers for Wifi and graphics

    - Reinstalled multiple packages using PowerShell

    - Completely reinstalled both the Xbox app and also windows store

    - Created the C:\Windows\System32\AppLocker folder

    - Ran all the windows troubleshooters

    I am out of ideas, can anyone help me out?

    If it was me in this position, having tried all the steps you have, my next step would be a full clean Windows reinstall (via a clean USB rather than using the WIndows reset feature as that doesn't always remove everything) to delete everything (would need to back up important files etc). USB drive needs to be a 16GB one.

    Doing this would give you a completely clean version...once you run all the WIndows Updates as normal after installing Windows and install the Graphics Drivers (if you have an NVIDIA GPU, then choose Custom install and untick the HD Audio option as it has a history of causing issues). Try installing SOT before installing anything else...if it works, then there was something on your system causing the issue...if it still fails, then chances are it's an issue on MS's end
