Cannot install October 2014 update

Hi,

I've recently bought my xbox one a month ago and ran the initial update on the first day and it installed fine.

The October 2014 update keeps failing though and I've followed the troubleshooting steps including power cycle etc.It usually fails at 70% (ish).

I then ran the offline system update but that does the power-down toner immediately after the second power-on tone resulting in an e101 error code.

I'm running out of ideas...I really don't want to restore to factory settings!

I know that it's not a satisfactory answer and indeed not a good experience, but receiving an E101 error means that you have phone the support to have your console serviced. You will find the proper phone number at http://support.xbox.com

Alternatively you can set up a service at http://myservice.xbox.com

Sri that there is no other solution.

 

What about downloading the offline update? I mean, it is better to try that then send in the console for a repair.

That's where he gets the E101 error.
