Discus and support Cannot install Minecraft purchased for Xbox which is also available for Win 10 PC in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I have purchased Minecraft on Xbox.     Cannot install Minecraft purchased for Xbox which is also available for Win 10 PC


    I have purchased Minecraft on Xbox. I would like to install it on my Win 10 PC too. When I go to The Minecraft page and click "Install on my devices". It does not list my Win 10 PC as a device to install Minecraft. I can see Xbox as a device to install Minecraft.
    I have also confirmed that the account logged in from the PC is same as the one used for Xbox Minecraft purchase.

    I assume if I purchase a game for Xbox and available for PC can be used on PC also.

    You would have to purchase the PC version of Minecraft in order to be able to play it on the PC.

    There are games you can purchase digitally on Xbox or PC and download and play for free on the other. Those are called Play Anywhere titles. Unfortunately Minecraft is not one of those games.

    Minecraft for Windows 10 is NOT on Game Pass. Only Minecraft for Xbox is. However, Minecraft Dungeons

    Minecraft for Windows 10 is only available for the PC. If you've been playing on the console then you have Minecraft. You would need to purchase Minecraft for Windows 10 if you want to play it on the PC. Minecraft is not a Play Anywhere title. It's also
    only available for Game Pass for console, not Game Pass for PC.

    Did you purchase Minecraft or Minecraft for Windows 10? If you went through the website, you may have purchased Minecraft which is for the console, not Minecraft for Windows 10 which is for the PC.
