Cannot install games on Windows Xbox application.

When I attempt to install a game on my computer via the xbox application I get stuck at the 'install on selected drive' option. It does not let me install or select a drive to install on. Only showing 'Unknown available'. Image showing issue.

Secondly when trying to change the install location via app settings there are no options available, image showing issue.

I have tried rolling back updates, changing the default app installation drives and uninstalling and reinstalling the xbox application, resetting the application and nothing has worked.

Can anyone help me?

About the problem you are having, I recommend that you try the solutions below.

Solution 1:

Open RegEdit as an administrator and delete the following Services:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServices]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServicesNet]

PC reboot

Install gaming service like you would normally

Solution 2:

Go to your windows settings, go to the tab>applications and resources>Search for Gaming Services, click on it, go to advanced options, and tap repair.

*If it doesn't work, try the alternative below.

Download the Create Windows 10 installation media application from the link below, at the end of the download run the application, and then follow the instructions given by the program at the end click on upgrade. Rest assured none of your files will be lost, this is a system restore that will try to fix this error.

The application setting window doesnt have an application and resources tab. I looked in the services window and cannot find Gaming Services in there either.

Are you using the Xbox game pass application for windows 10? If not try installing it, and install the game through the Xbox app instead of microsoft store

Thank you for your help, however I am currently unable to access the minecraft launcher (it can't be opened/launched, is still showing up in the windows search bar, cannot be uninstalled).

Every time I try to download it again from other places (microsoft store application, minecraft installer application, minecraft launcher from the xbox store), I get an error and it tells me it is unable to install
