Cannot install GamePass PC titles from Xbox App

Fully patched Windows 10 running on an AMD Ryzen (Atari VCS, AMD R1606g), Win10 is running from an external USB3 drive (2TB Seagate Gamedrive) using the "PC Mode" on the device.

No problem installing games or other software on the device. Office, Bethesda launcher, etc. etc. all work fine.

When I try to download and install Oblivion or Doom3 from the Xbox app, the download runs and completes but at 100% download it says installation failed but doesn't give an error message (beyond "Error"). The "click the link" is completely uninformative.

This box runs Fallout 4 and 76 and Skyrim, it should also install and run these much older games.

Plus I feel like I don't know where the installation files are going and it's 35GB of space I'd like to remove if it's just not going to work.

For what it's worth, I am having the exact same issue with adding these games from the Store app. Downloads 100%, then "Error." I have done wsreset from the admin console. This box is, and has been, fully patched.

Any advice helping me resolve this issue on this service I am paying Microsoft money every month for?

You cant gameshare between xbox and pc

You can login and download playanywhere titles and then people on your pc can use the games but no they cannot access xgu from pc only the primary can

XGU on xbox only allows the primary to download and install games from gamepass

All users on the home console can use the gold and installed games

farcry 5 is only available with an xbox gamepass account but you need to install the ubisoft app and have an ubisoft account linked to access it as the game is not available on windows store full stop, the game is only available on ubisoft store, steam store, gog and i think epic, also farcry 5 is not cross platform meaning you cannot play with those on console.

Having gamepass for pc lets you play the following:

EA play games( you must install the ea desktop app and link accounts, there are no cheevos)

ubisoft titles ( you must install the ubisoft connect app and have the accounts linked, only select titles which there are about 5 or 6 available, no cheevos)

gamepass games available in the xbox app.

Cheers for this. Got the same issue and have not been able to install any more Gamepass titles on my PC for past couple of days. I have a few GamePass PC titles installed already and those show to still be installed ok in the app and also play fine. Had tried selecting the drive in settings (there only is one) reinstalling the Xbox app and doing the app repair/reset too. Nothing had worked but using the app on mobile forces the remote install through to the desktop pc just fine, but it's crazy to have to do that. Something broke with a recent update, hopefully MS sort asap.

Also pc gamepass games.aren't the same as xbox gamepass

And yes there are some pc.only titles

If you goto.the xbox gamepass app for.pc.you have 3 sections cloud. Xbox and pc

And not all titles are pc.anywhere isn't that an ea title?
