Cannot Install Game from Xbox App on Windows 10

Hello, about a month or so ago, I purchased GamePass. I've been loving it, but the Xbox app on Windows 10 has been giving me some grief.

For some reason, I cannot seem to download Back 4 Blood. Whenever I launch the Xbox app fresh, the game shows up as a 0% error install. Clicking on the error, I am sent to the installation list, where it shows the same error. If I attempt to retry the install, it fails again IMMEDIATELY, and if I cancel it, the game is deleted from my library. This would be good, but if I try to search for the game using the app's search function, the second I click on it, it shows the game back in my library as a failed install. Any ideas?

I've already tried going through the files on my C drive to see if the game has been partially installed, and I can't find anything about it.

ERROR CODE: 0x80073cf3
This error code says I should just wait, but it's been like this for over a month.

Hey guys, sorry to hear you're having this problem. Please make sure that you're logged into the Windows 10 PC with the same gamertag (account) you bought the pass with. Also, if you haven't already please make sure the Xbox Console Companion is installed
and has the same gamertag logged in there.

Download the Beta app and install the games. If you cannot install from the app try launching the Windows Store app and installing the game from there

Hi there Same_Greene welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. I suggest you try these basic troubleshooting steps!

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services.

Then try this:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

Then do the same for the Xbox app:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

If it still doesn't work you're going to uninstall the games services using a powershell command, then you're going to open the gamepass app, it will ask you to download and install the game services again :

In the windows search bar type Powershell > Right click and select open as administrator > Type the command: "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" > Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC, then open your Xbox gamepass app, it will ask you to install the gaming services again, install it and try again.

Steam.os cannot install games because from gamepass games are windows based

Only cloud gaming is supported unless you install Windows 10

Thank you for keeping us updated. Are you attempting to install the game from the Xbox (beta) App, Xbox Console Companion App or the Windows Store App? We have seen some cases where installing the game from the Windows Store App will resolve the issue.
Go ahead and cancel the installation and begin installing it from the Windows Store App. You can try initiating the installation from the other two applications as well if the Windows Store App does not work.

I do not think you understood my problem. You see the app is not installed yet, the problem is with the XboxInstaller used to install the Xbox App. The links you sent did not solve my issue. I cannot install the Xbox App because the Installer won't work.
