    Cannot Hear Voice Chat


    I have an Xbox One brand stereo headset that’s been working fine until lately. I mainly use it while playing Fortnite, and the in-game sound comes through the speakers just fine, but voice chat only works while in an Xbox Live party now. I can’t hear anyone
    when not in a party (normal game chat), and they can’t hear me. I feel like the only thing I’ve done different lately is let a streamer allow my voice to be heard in her Mixer stream. As it is, it’s fine when playing with friends who also play Fortnite on
    Xbox One (because I can party up with them in an Xbox Live party to hear them), but I can’t communicate with anyone through cross-platform voice chat. I’ve updated the controller’s firmware, done a hard reset on the Xbox One console by holding in the power
    button, messed with the audio settings, etc. to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks, in advance.

    I have had the same problem that you are describing. That's what I was basing my answer on. The one thing I did do however, after I checked my settings, I turn my Xbox off and unplugged it for 30 seconds. I plugged it in, turned it back on, and have been
    fine ever since. I have also had the same game/party chat fault, where as going to settings and changing it fixed that one.

    I've had this happen to me, and it was a few days before I could fix it. Hit the start button, go to settings, go to communication Sub menu and where it says voice chat options you have to select in game because it probably says party. Whenever you join
    the party it will automatically switch from in-game to party chat when you leave the party you have to go to the settings and turn this back to "in game"

    I may just try to delete and re-download the game, as this issue makes no sense to me.
