    Cannot get Sandisk USB 3.0 to work as external harddirve


    I formatted a sandisk 3.0 256gb usb flashdrive to ntfs and plugged it into my xbox one s. I plugged it into my xbox one and it showed up asking if I want to use it for media or game, I chose media because I want to be able to record for an hour instead of the short default tikme using the default internal storage. Now It does not show up when I go to manage storage devices on my xbox nor can I use it for anything including captures, but it does show up on the media player app though I cannot do anything with it there except view the things on it if there was anything. It seems there is no way to change the usb to for games instead of for media now as well even when I reformat the flashdrive to its default settings on the computer.

    i was going to try and get a different usb 3.0 cable if i can find one or a different external case. my coworker seems to think its either the cable or the ssd

    ive tried in all 3 of the ports i get same issue.

    its a sandisk ultra 3d nand.

    Is the drive USB 3.0 compatible? If not that would be the reason that it is not working. The external drive must be USB 3.0.

    its a red and black sandisk pendrive, there is nothing saying about USB 3.0 so its not, but it is NTFS

    I have a 500gb 3.0 external I use for game storage. It never fails. I have a 700gb 3.0 external that I use for media. It never fails. Bought a sandisk 3.0 32gb flashdrive doesn't recognize it all. That makes no freaking sense what so ever

    64G Sansdisk flashdrive does not quite work?

    I checked my 360 32G flash drive - Sandisk Extreme usb 3.0 - and it does not even initialize on X1.

    I rebooted as well to be sure.

    Works fine on 360.
