Cannot get a system update

Discus and support Cannot get a system update in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I am trying to update my xbox 360, i dont have internet access, i am at a friends house trying to download the update onto a cd, but i cannot get it to...     Cannot get a system update


    I am trying to update my xbox 360, i dont have internet access, i am at a friends house trying to download the update onto a cd, but i cannot get it to download?

    System Update

    You will not get a system update from a game disc.

    If it won`t allow a system update its possible the system is banned from live, or you haven`t fixed it correctly.

    Be aware self repair cannot be discussed here.

    Cannot get a system update

    Try putting it on a flash-drive instead of a compact disk. I believe that it'll work better that way. Also, if I'm correct you -should- be able to copy the update from his Xbox (if he has one) and download it to yours off of the flash drive.

    As a side note it isn't possible to take a system update off another xbox and use that to update your xbox.

    Continued.

    that is to say it would not connect to xbox live prior to attempting offline update

    System has since reset and cannot get past the update system portion.
