Cannot figure out how to get open NAT, tried everything

Ive done just about everything i can that ive found on the internet to get my NAT type to be open and i still cant get it. Im running two routers in the house, one in the basement connected to the model, that router is the linksys e3000,
then i have one running as an access point in my bedroom that is connected LAN to LAN to the basement router. The router in my room is an old linksys wrt54g. Xbox one is connected via wire to the wrt54g in my room. The e3000 router is running tomato and the
wrt45g is running ddwrt, both installed by my step father, he was good at this kind of stuff but has since passed. I have port forwarded all the recommended ports on BOTH routers. Dont know what else to do.

Things you have tried: Router its connected to is used as an access point (LAN to LAN), have done port forwarding for all recommended ports on BOTH routers, upnp enabled on everything, did an unplug, plug back in of everything after port forwards were
set. Still says nat strict

Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/No/Unknown: yes

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type?: Status code 0x40000000000? "Your network is behind a port-symetric NAT"

Cannot get Open NATs - Tried Everything - Help Please

First thing would be to reset your modem/router to factory defaults (you are using a combo device, correct?) Then set the IP address for the One to a reserved/static IP address and it should always use the same IP address when the One is powered on. If
it doesn't then there is something else going on. After that make sure that UPnP is enabled. You do have only one XBOX One, correct? If your Modem/Router is handling UPnP properly then you should be good to go. If that doesn't work then please provide
the following information. Many times the devices provided by the ISP's are very inexpensive and actually handle network traffic very poorly. I searched for the device you are using by the information provide and was unsuccessful finding it.

I can't get my NAT open either. I've tried everything.

Here is my information:

How many Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles are connected to this router?: 1 Xbox One and 1 Xbox 360, but one at the time. Other one is turned off.

Wired or Wireless (for each console): Wireless

Things you have tried: Port fowarding, UPnP and DMZ

Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/No/Unknown: Now it is.

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type?: Strict. It says my network is behind portsymmetric NAT.

Any Error Codes you encounter: Nope.

Who is your ISP? (Internet Service Provider): DNA

 

Need model of the modem , its not a router too is it ? (gateway maybe) anyway , hard enough getting open nat on one router let alone 2 ...I would start at the 1st box in the loop , the modem , plug the xbox straight in and make sure nat is open . If you
cant get open nat at box 1 no way to get it at box 2....then I would hook up the 1st router and check nat there ....and so on... and you cant do the port forward AND have Upnp enabled as that is conflicting instructions...

 

Modem is a speedstream 5100, its not a router as well as a modem. Ill double check upnp, maybe i dont have it on.

 

Disabled unpn on both routers and re-ran network connection tests and still says strict.

 

Well , like I said , you got 3 devices between the xbox and your internet connection , I would start at the 1st device and work backwards checking the nat at each one...you SHOULD have open nat if you plug straight into the modem , but if you don't have
it there you have ZERO chance to get it further down the line...

are the 2 routers connected by cable ?

 

I was just thinking it cant be the modem because i had open nat on my xbox 360. And yes the routers are connected by cables.

 

No , it cant be the modem , but it could be your isp (if its strict at the modem) ....it seems to be easier for 360 for some reason.....if you have a cable from router A to router B , and router B is in the same room as the Xbox , just remove router B and
use the cable from router A for the Xbox ....if it opens , you know router B is the bad guy , if still strict , router A (and possibly still router B ) is the bad guy...

 

So interestingly enough connect straight to the modem its still strict. So theres nothing i can do from here? Weird how i had it open on the 360 but not one.

 

If strict at the modem I would call your isp because the modem is just a pass through , has no nat ...did you reset everything after hooking it straight up ?

 

Or your Xbox is broken and reading the nat wrong , but I haven't herd of that...

 

I turned off xb, unplugged it, unplugged modem, connected xb to modem and turned everything back on and still strict.

It's always been my understanding that a plain modem did not have any nat and was simply a pass through, I would call your isp tech Dept and ask if their modem is different if it came frome your isp they may have different firmware on it ) also ask if maybe
they are blocking some ports that xbox uses or have any extra firewalls going on...
