Cannot Enable Modding/Modifiable files on Oblivion

However, we found out that enabling Mods/Modifiable files is best consulted directly to the right support. It would be dealt better by creating a ticket and since you’ve reached us first, we’ll ensure that your time is worth it by guiding you to the right direction where you can achieve your desired resolution. Oblivion is not moddable on the game pass or windows store version.

No game is moddable unless it is specifically designated as such in the description

Can you verify that you've updated your Xbox App and the Game Services to their latest versions? You can do that by following the steps below:

Open the Xbox App

• Click your profile icon at the top right corner of the page
  
• Select "Settings"
  
• Select "About" on the left panel
  

The first set of numbers under "Version" will display the current version of your Xbox App.

Current versions:

Xbox App: 2112.1001.10.0

Gaming Services: 3.60.12001.0

You can also try launching the game and playing it before trying to enable mods again.

Everything's up to date, and I have a couple hours on my save so neither is the problem.





Seems the problem had todo with this DWORD inside of the registry:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\EnableLUA

Changing EnableLUA from 0 to 1 seemed todo the trick.

Maybe something Microsoft should look into so others that are not so computer savvy don't have to deal with this stupid problem.
