Cannot edit avatar in Windows 8.1

yeah the entire options area on the games app is missing completely and avatar editor on the website only gives the games app option. it doesn't say a single other thing.

 

Also having the same problem.

They just need to update the xbox games app to 8.1 then it might work if it is not already updated.

 

it says start the games app. clicking it does nothing, going to the games app has no option to change avatar, on the website the edit avatar button shows up for a second then is replaced with a blank while looking avatar that cannot be clicked. no errors

This should be available via the web, if you have Silverlight installed:

- Go to Xbox.com and sign in with the same account information you use when playing games

- In the upper right of the page, click your Gamertag

- On this page, you should be able to click "Edit My Avatar"

Or, if you have opted to auto-sign in for xbox.com, you can use this link:
https://live.xbox.com/en-US/Profile

Other options would be using a Windows Phone, iOS, or Android device and installing the Xbox 360 edition of SmartGlass.

 

This is not working, after sign in for xbox.com, the link will only ask you to open the Game app to edit your avatar and the Game app is the one with all these issues since upgrading to win 8.1 though.

You'll need to install Microsoft Silverlight and refresh the page for it to work

 

u need to install microsoft silverlight..just install it at windows update..case closed

 

Even with Silverlight installed, I still can't do anything on either the webpage or the app. The webpage still just tells me I can change my avatar through the Games app, and there's no option for that on the app.

 

Download Microsoft Silverlight in order to customize your avatar.

 

having the same problem here. when i had windows 8 it was fine you could edit by clicking on the edit avatar button. but now with windows 8.1 their is no option for that. they need to fix it or at lest let us add a picture.

 

I just clicked on MisterJDoubleU's link and tried to download Microsoft Silverlight. I received an error message that read: cannot download file-XBox 360 doesn't support downloading files to local storage. I couldn't go any further after that. Every time
I attempt to edit my avatar on my console, I get signed out and the avatar editor closes. Everyone else can edit their avatars on the same console except me. I've watered patiently...for months now!!!! Does anyone have a solution?
