Cannot download xbox 360 gold games

But this is truly truly absurd, first what difference does it make that he is 18 or not?

I had bought the gold (I am 39 years old) and put it on his account, surely I can decide if he has access to gold or not and if this is not possible it has to be transferrable to me.

I don't get it I have a valid gold subscription and your solution to me is just to buy another one for my other account for the same console?

If this isn't absurd then I don't know what is.

Secondly why must he proof (my god) that he is 18 and how do you get the information that he is not 18?

This is leaving a very very bitter taste, you can't expect a customer to buy something twice for the same service (is this legal)?

I really hope their comes a solution, because all this doesn't make any sense.

 

Because there are account restrictions with regard to downloads on the 360 for those that have child accounts. You said yourself your nephew is not yet 17. Once the Gold is assigned to an account it isn't transferable.

You don't have a Gold subscription, you share it with your nephew on the Xbox One. The 360 has different rules than the Xbox One. No one here except you is responsible for the situation created. I'm not going to keep repeating the same points over and over.

Your nephew has Gold

He isn't 18 years old

You don't have Gold for your other account

You share Gold with your nephew on the Xbox One

Shared Gold does not apply to 360 consoles or content

Content restrictions on the 360 prevent your Nephew from downloading Games with Gold because HE isn't an adult

You can't transfer existing Gold to another game tag (yours)

Some reasonable suggestions have been made. It is up to you as to whether you follow them or not. Not following them means you won't be able to download 360 Games with Gold.

Not sure how much plainer this can be.

This could all have been avoided if you had applied Gold to YOUR account and shared with your nephew rather than the other way around.

 

I understand it very clear but that doesn't mean it's right or not absurd.

I don't see when I created both accounts and I have proofed that I am a adult why the gold can't simply transferred to my account, but you made your point.

One thing I would like to know. How do you know my nephew is 17 and not older, where did you got that proof?

I had a good time with Microsoft but some of their decisions are weird at least and not thought through, but they hopefully learn one day.

Doesn't matter you would have to show proof of age of majority you already said he's not over 17

 

Secondly no service allows you to change the age of an account or have backwards compatibility

Quit blaming Microsoft policy for being the issue here.

I clearly said waiting until the Gold you already have expires in November is one option for you. If you don't want to do that because you want the BC games now then you should buy another year and apply it to YOUR account. Again you have choices here. You
may not like them but they are choices you can make to resolve your issue.

 

Off course I know that I said that, but imagine if I didn't give you this information , how does Microsoft know his age?

Did he provide Microsoft this information and how does Microsoft know the age of someone besides someone giving this information stating how old you are (like almost everyone give a wrong date because it can't be verified), and how come it can't be easily
corrected like almost any company does allow?

I guess honesty doesn't bring you far in this world whcih is sad.

And I know I have choices to resolve the issue, sadly none are very good. One is waiting a year (great) another is paying twice for the same thing (great) another one is finding someone with a xbox 360 (I don't know one, I am one of the few loyal one to
Microsoft in Belgium).

I hope you can give feedback to the team of some of these absurd policies otherwise the xbox brand is getting seriously damaged if the previous years wasn't enough (second tier).

When a Live account is created and then tied to an Xbox account you are required to provide a birthdate when creating the account. Responding truthfully will create an account that ages with the user. If the user made a mistake in stating the birthdate there
is no recourse but to create a new account with the proper date. You cannot change an account's birthdate even if an error was made.

So yes, he provided MS with the information and it doesn't matter if it is right or wrong now, once created the account is stuck.

Also you said some other things that hinted at the minor account and if you hadn't questions would have been asked to determine where the fault with not being able to buy games lay. Age restrictions and Region and Account mismatches are just the most common
issues. Once you corrected the Region mismatch and it wouldn't let you buy and download it became obvious age was the issue.

No one here is other than a user of the Xbox and it's games. Unless someone has an M for moderator, everyone posting is a game player like yourself. There is no team to give feedback to. While these forums are official MS forums, most of the response is
from regular users.

Proof of.age of.majoroty requires a license or passport with his exact name on his account and no you cant change the name on the account was then go by the original

Just like.in real life you need a valid proof of age of majority as most groups.require actual proof
