Cannot download profile on ANY backwards compatible game

Every Xbox360 game asks me to download a profile, then takes me to the Xbox 360 dashboard (the same one that appears if you press start and select). Every time I try to download profile it says I'm not connected to xbox live, but then redirects me to my
network settings where it says I am connected, all services are available, and my NAT is open. I can't play any of the 360 games on rare replay or the gears of war games that came with gears of war ultimate edition.

Suggested fixes I've tried (or aren't applicable):

• Port forwarding
• Switching between wired/wireless
• I don't use 2 step authentication
• I don't use game sharing
• Tried changing the MTU setting to 1450 on the router
• Using static IP (yeah I know totally useless since my port forwarding is definitely working with DHCP as my NAT is confirmed as OPEN, but tried nonetheless)
  
• Power cycled modem and router
• deleted all 360 games from hard drive, re-downloaded, also cleared xbox 360 storage from storage settings
  

One strange thing I noticed is that when I start up any 360 game it gives me a gray screen that says "Gathering info from your xbox 360" or something along those lines, and it has a progress bar that never moves (stays at 0). That screen eventually just
disappears and the game loads and asks me for my profile.

I've found many people still having this issue, looks to have been going on since the 360 backwards compatibility preview started. We need a fix for this please!

Cannot download profile on Xbox One for backward compatible games (Xbox 360).

Anyone got any ideas?

Microsoft says they believe the issue on "their side" when I spoke to them. Which was useless.

I cannot download a profile for a backwards compatible Xbox 360 game (Mass Effect 1) on my Xbox One. When I try to download a Profile, an error message says:

Sorry, Xbox Live profiles can't be downloaded right now. Try again later.

I've tried various fixes posted online, but nothing has worked. I would appreciate any help.

I have this exact issue too. Its so frustrating as this is an awesome feature for xbox one owners.

I have attempted (5 times) to get support via the online support chat, but keep getting fobbed off as if they think backwards compatibility is flawless or something... All that time spent just for them to say "its been logged and will be looked at, is there
anything else I can do for you today?“....

"uhhhh. Yeah. Fix the issue. Please. With cherries on top. Kthnx.“

 

I'm going to try a factory reset today, backing up all saves on cloud first. Will update if this fixes the issue. I was avoiding the nuclear option but I'm out of ideas!

 

Well factory reset didnt fix it either. Has anyone who had this issue gotten it working??

 

Ok, it looks like the DNS is defaulting to IPv6. The xbox will not let me change the DNS manually (seems to be a bug). I tried disabling ipv6 in my router but that basically broke my internet so it's not a viable option. PLEASE FIX THIS MICROSOFT!

Welcome to the club. I've tried everything possible on my end to fix the problem. It amazes me that Microsoft is still *** around with this issue and hasn't publicly addressed it yet.

 

I've got this too. I've been through XBox support with no joy. They suggested the offline diagnostic tool, I'm on OS 10.0.10586.1016 so according to their page OSUDT3 should have been the one. It wouldn't work. I tried OSUDT2 and that did attempt to
update the XBox but either failed (no error though) or just updated it to the same version.

I also tried a factory reset which, apart from forcing me to install all my disc based games again, did absolutely nothing.

I've had the XBox One for over 12 months now so I never got it for playing 360 games. However, now its an option, I'd like to be able to use the feature. I'm not willing to go down the path of sending the console in for repair though (which seems to be
the path the MS online help is heading towards).

Of course, if Red Dead Redemption becomes available....then this issue becomes critical

 

You can fix the issue by re-downloading your profile I had the exact same issue,

Load the BC game open the dash via start and select,

If you are signed in to your profile sign out,

Now re download your profile.

It should download and you should sign straight into live.

Simple fix I tried a lot of things before trying the first thing I should of done lol

 

this does not solve anything. I've never even been able to Download my 360 profile even once. It simply will not connect to Live to even attempt to download it

I have the same problem explained by Fox and tried the same step. Nothing worked to solve the situation and there wasn't a specific error to report.

I had the dashboard in beta and when i tried for the fist time the backward compatibility worked fine.

.

Now i tried to use Sacred 3 and got the problems (some recent update could broke something?). Looks like that in the Xbox 360 emulation don't manage correctly the network card of the Xbox One, so you result offline during the emulation.
