Cannot download Gears 1 and 3 codes

So a friend gave me a Gears 3 download from his Gears of War 4 pre order. He is located in the U.S and I am in Germany. My xbox and my website region language and location is that of the United States.

Today, I received two codes from Xbox Live for my Gears 4 purchase. The codes were for Gears 1 and 2. However, I was only able to download Gears 2 but got the same message for 1 as I did for 3. Anyone else have this problem?

recently purchased gears of war ultimate edition, can use codes to download gears 2 and redemtion. But when trying to down load Gears 1 and 3, receiving notification cannot download due to language setting. Please change region. Have changed region and still
same issue , not able to download gears 1 and 3

Gears of War 3

Gears of War Judgment

i managed to redeem only Gears of War 2 and Gears of War Judgment. Why?Cannot redeem code of Gears of War 1 and Gears of War 3

Update: I just received my two codes for Gears 3 and Judgment, and of course, was unable to download Gears 3 but was able to download Judgment. Seems to me that region lock is not the issue.

 

Region locking is the issue actually. Not all of the Gears games are region locked which is why some will work, but not all. Gears 1 is not available for download in Germany so it won't work. Gears 3 should work if you set your account region to Germany.
Your account region has to match your physical location in order to download region locked games.

My redeem code don't work for Gears Of War 1 & 3.

 

Just received my codes for Gears 1, 3 and Judgement, but I'm still missing Gears 2. My problem is: I'm German and my console was set to Germany when my codes arrived. Is there a way to receive the code for Gears 2, maybe by setting my console settings to
another country or do you know any other way?

 

I have same issue. Bought the Xbox One S bundle with GoW4 1TB. I got the codes last night. Codes for Gears of War and Gears of War 3 didn't work.

 

Same issue for me. I have been able to redeem codes for Gears of War 3 and Gears of War Judgement, but haven't been able to redeem Gears of War 1 and Gears of War 3. I also tried in microsoft.com/redeem with my Xbox associated account and didn't work either.

Could someone advise on how to proceed further?

I have this problem as well. I live in the UK and have download codes for all 4 Gears of War games (1, 2, 3 & Judgement). I cannot redeem Gear 1 or 3 but 2 and Judgement redeemed fine.

 

It was happening to me until i went to the migration tool and moved my account to canada ( i Live in canada and bought the games in canada) for some reason my xbox account seemed to have been associated with another region. (Sign in to your Microsoft account)
