cannot download games that require administrator permission (from store and xbox pc app)

Thanks for updating us with your reply. As you've already attempted to resolve the issue with an administrator profile and are getting the same error code, you may wish to try out the Windows Update error troubleshooter based on the error code you received
when trying to use the Microsoft Store.

Do you have administrator permissions on your PC?
Some games require additional components to be installed for the game to function properly. Depending on the components being installed, you may be prompted for permission from an administrator during game installation or when the game
is first launched.

Tried to do a local account with admin status but I needed my Microsoft account anyway to signing in on the store to get access to gamepass. This time the download started and stopped immediately with the same error

I'm sorry to hear that Sea of Thieves still does not download.

Are you running the Xbox (Beta) app as an administrator? Close the app, right click the app and select run as administrator.

Can you attempt to download a game like Metro Exodus which requires similar permissions to download? You don't have to complete the download just try to see if it starts.

Have you re-installed the app itself? Have you also tried installing the game directly from the Microsoft Store app and not the Xbox (beta) app?

Did not work for me, nor have any of the other suggested fixes.

Reported every time through the feedback hub app.

Also found a "Gaming Services" update installed last night, no difference. Same for the latest cumulative update.

It seems a very widespread problem, relating specifically to games that require administrator permissions to install. None are prompting for any further input, and I have tried "Run as administrator".

I can install anything from the Microsoft store that does not have the specified" Administrator permission required" though.
