Cannot Download Bioshock

Hi there

I bought bioshock in the sale yesterday and im having trouble downloading it. I paid using my debit card. Everytime i try to download it stays on 0 or 4% then a notification comes up saying: "Cannot Download Bioshock" I've tried lots of times and followed your
FAQ on the problem, but nothings working. Hope this can get resolved soon.

Can't download Bioshock or Oblivion

I recently purchased the new 500 GB Hard Drive but I cannot download Bioshock or Oblivion onto it I get a failed download message on both games after multiple attempts. I have tried the usual suggestions so any further advice please.

 

This problem can be caused by your hard drive or USB (depends what are you using) try to download the game to another storage device and check if the available storage space fits Bioshok size. Maybe that problem caused by your Wi-Fi router.BTW try to download
to another device.

 

It also crops up on rare occurrences when the region you set on the console is different than your physical location... like if you were using a USA account / region while physically living in London.

 

I'm having the same issue. My DL made it to 7% and then kicked back to 0%.. shot straight to 7% again and then gave me an error code that said 'Can't download Bioshock'. I contacted live chat support and the agent walked me through the steps to clear my
cache (3x), delete the download and am currently attempting to download this again. She also said I would have only 24 hrs to contact them back for a refund if the game does indeed not download. She informed me to contact Irrational Games but everytime I try
to send them a message, it goes to an error page. What a total pain this game is turning out to be.

 

VisageOfAnAngel, no you wrong. I had US account while i live in Russia, but games was downloading without problems.

 

Did you see the "rare occurrence" part? Stop being a troll and besides that having an account for a region you do not live in is tantamount to Marketplace fraud and could get your suspended or banned.

 

**update** my download finally worked and I am now able to play this game. My Xbox Live agent Joy C. showed me the step-by-step issues to fix my download error and I am thankful for her. Contact live chat if you need help as well.

 

support is useless to me 2 weeks ago i could not download dead or alive 5 ultimate, now i can't download bioshock.. but this free game sleeping dogs no problem (too bad i've buyed on disc before)

my downloads never start because i get a error code with area or damaged file

 

I checked my location, and its fine. I don't have another location to download too so I cant try that, although what did they tell you to do ragingwind RPG?

 

Hi try deleting the game from your hard drive and any non essential saves (if any) and download the game again

You could also try deleting any dlc as this has caused a couple of issues in the past, the content can be reinstalled when your game is up and running by viewing your purchase history.

Finally try the old favourite of clearing you cache as below:

support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache

 

after the latest update, i had to transfer the permissions over to my newer console. it showed i had the original game when it came out and it was on an older 360. once i transfered it, it downloaded with no problems.

the message was something like game belongs to another xbox.

 

I have the same problem as the original post. I've tried the suggest route of deleting any saved data it had (which was none) and cleared the cache. It still won't go past 0% and cancels itself and displays the message "cannot download bioshock". I have
plenty of space for the game and had no problem downloading bioshock2 and the expansion dlc; so is this an issue with the game at xbox's end??

 

I got a call from support and they helped me resolve this so I thought I would share what I had missed. Follow the instructions posted previously in thread of deleting the game save and clearing the cache. Where I went wrong was looking for bioshock in the
games folder alphabetically but where the download was corrupted it put it near the bottom of the list with a yellow exclamation mark. Delete that file, clear your cache and download the game again. Admittedly it started downloading and then cancelled around
4% but upon trying a second time it worked like a charm.
