Cannot Download Backwards Compatible Gold Game

For once in a long time Xbox has finally put a decent game up on the store for Xbox Live Gold users. This game was Mirror's Edge, and I was at first excited to download it. After multiple failed attempts on the Xbox, where it constantly gave an error even
after restarting, I looked to the internet to find that to download an Xbox 360 game you must do it from the online store. After trying to download the game, it said that this transaction is only possible through the Xbox One itself! I am so confused as to
how hard Microsoft has made it to download these games.

Backward Compatibility

Every month I download 2 free games on Gold to my Xbox one, but, i cannot download the 360 games from Gold into my Xbox one for backward compatibility. How do i activate my Xbox One to start playing backward compatible 360 games.

I cannot download free backwards compatible games with gold even though I have a gold membership.

Moreover, I recently purchase street fighter xbox 360 copy of game on xbox.com. I received the confirmation that i have bought the game and it shows in my games section on xbox.com. However the game does not appear on ready to install section on my xbox
one. This is my first xbox 360 backwards compatibility game and I have never owned a xbox 360. Please help !!

 

I have also now read the error message my Xbox One gives, and it states that I have to complete on my Xbox One. This is ridiculous, it cannot even verify what platform the transaction is being made on.

 

There are usually 2 reasons you can't download the game via the store on the One or website. Either you need a payment method on file (credit card or Paypal) or you're on a child account. In order to download the games without a payment method or on a child
account is through a 360 console.
