    Thats right. Microsoft is making me auto renew.

    Not only that, but I cannot remove it without calling them.

    I'm too scared to call them because i'm sure I'd screw it up.

    Do you guys have any suggestions?

    Past Due Charge for Unwanted Gold Membership

    Recently, I realized I haven't made much use of the Xbox Live Gold membership I had so I decided to disable auto-renew for it. Once I did though, I could no longer access Xbox Live on my profile. Apparently, the card that was set to renew the account had
    expired before the auto-renew date so the account never renewed and now the charge is past due. Is there any way to resolve this situation without purchasing another 12 month Xbox Live Gold membership to renew it? Because I really don't want to spend $60 on
    a service that I'm hardly going to use.

    As soon as you confirm the purchase for gold you authorize auto-renewal. So by completing the purchase you did agree to it.

    Unfortunately, if you can't turn it off via the website, the only thing you can do is contact support directly. There's really nothing you can do to screw it up. Just talk to billing and tell them you need to turn off auto-renewal.

    Auto Renewal Problem

    I just got off the phone with xbox support saying why did you bill me. I disabled the auto-renewal from a prompt on the xbox. However, when I told xbox support that I disabled the auto-renew via the Xbox, they basically said I wasn't tell the truth and
    you can't disable auto-renewal on the xbox. Well I don't know what it's suppose to do but the prompt which automatically apppeared, implied to me I was confirming if I wanted auto-renewal or not. I feel that they way MS is handling the auto-renewals is shady.
    Oh, and to boot they wouldn't refund the money even though I called the same day I received an email saying they are billing me. It's not just about the money it's about the priciple that pisses me off.

    xbox online support SUCKS

    If you change your address to an Illinois address you can disable auto renewal on the website. Other than that auto renewal can only be disabled by calling support.
