cannot connect to xbox live.

I try the connection test and everything is fine, except the connect to xbox live gives me a big red X. I talked to support and they said it was my router. Everything else in the house is running just fine on the router, and xbox live has been running on
it since March. All of a sudden it just won't connect. I even got a new router, but still nothing. I have paid for a year of LIVE, and haven't been able to get on for over a month! Help!

MaxBox99 in order to connect to Xbox live you need an Xbox live profile, you cannot connect to Xbox live without having an valid Xbox live account.

Please give the following steps a try:

• Press the Guide button on your controller, select Settings, and select System Settings.
  
• Select Network Settings.
• Select the name of your wireless network when the network is displayed.
• Select Configure Network.
• On the Additional Settings tab, select Restore to Factory Defaults. When prompted, select Yes, Restore to Factory Defaults.
  
• This resets your consoles network settings only, and not other settings.
• Turn off your console.
• Turn on your console and follow the prompts to configure wireless settings.
• Once the configuration is complete, press the Guide button on your controller.
  
• Select Settings and then select System Settings.
• Select Network Settings and select the name of your wireless network.
• Select Test Xbox Live Connection.
• If this solution worked, you should be able to connect to Xbox Live.
