Cannot connect to xbox live, unless i test network connection.

i just reset my gateway, since street fighter was running laggy. after it finished resetting, i still wasnt able to connect to xbox live.

i checked my laptop, and it could connect to the internet just fine, but my xbox couldnt. i can always get it to work by running a network test, it always passes, and im always able to sign in afterwords.

why do i have to test my connection before signing in? why cant i just sign in when i have internet?

How to connect to Xbox Live in X1

There is no button or menu to connect!

The system is not connected, I do a network test and it passes, but still is not connected... I can't do anything with the X1 if it's not connected to live!

Is there a way to manually connect to Xbox live in this console?

Yes i am always unable to reconnect to Xbox Live unless i restart my console, even if the network test says everything is fine. I run the network connection test, it says there are no problems connecting to Xbox Live, so i press the home button, select Connect
to Xbox Live at which point it cannot establish a connection and asks me to run the network test again. Only if I restart my console can I reconnect.

It may be that your Xbox 360 is not receiving an IP address until you run the test. Try to see if your console has an IP address before you test. If not, then assign a static one using the console's Additional Settings tab. If you don't know what to put
in the fields, look at them after you run the test, write your IP address, Gateway, and Subnet down, and then fill those fields in in static/manual

Yea tried these suggestions and thanks for trying but also does not work. Still receive the same error and still unable to connect. When doing the xbox live connection test cannot pass the network to internet step and im using a wiredd ethernet

network to internet says error DNS whatever but I dont see how this is possible im using a wireddd ethernet not wireless have never ran into any problems or seen anyone else have this problem with a wiredd connection...

Connecting to the school's internet? No. I connect by ethernet, and my laptop is automatically connected to the network, and my system is automatically connected to the network. When I turn on my console, it automatically signs in to xbox live unless there
are connection issues. After which, I'd have to choose to connect to XBL and if it doesn't work, I start testing connections and such.
