Cannot connect to Xbox Live after switching Routers.

I have recently purchased and set up a new router in my home, and now my Xbox cannot connect to Xbox Live.

It detects the Network without issue, but it gets an "IP Address" error every time I attempt to connect.

Every other device in my house has had zero issues whatsoever connecting.

The weird thing is, at the network select screen, it shows the connection at 3-4 bars, then suddenly it flickers between 3-4 bars and zero bars.

Nothing I have done has worked, MAC Filtering is off, I have reset factory defaults, I have switched off anything and everything that could cause interference, I have reset my router for 30 seconds, I have reset my adapter for 30 seconds, I have reset my DSL
for 30 seconds.

Xbox Support told me to contact my ISP, and my ISP basically told me to go find a rocket scientist, because they had no clue.

Has anyone had this problem, and do you know how to fix it?

You can try switching browsers to try and connect to them. Restarting your router can help. Or call their support line @ 1-800-4MY-XBOX.

 

Windows 10 Streaming...Anyone Else Loving This?

Quality is determined by your router frequency and traffic. Most common routers are 2.4ghz. This low frequency is not good for content streaming and always has higher chance that you will lose connection. If you switch to a 5 ghz router, you should be able to stream all content between your windows 10 and xbox with no issue. It is not related to your isp at all. My current solution is im using a dual band router, all normal internet connections are through 2.4ghz. Xbox is connected to 5ghz, and any computer I want to stream to is on 5ghz.

 

With this, go to your xbox network, click on configure network--->additional settings--->restore to factory defaults. then turn off your console

Go to your router, then unplug it for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, plug it back in and wait for all the lights to turn on.

go back to your console, turn it back on, reconnect to your network.

When its a IP-Adress issue, you can try to set a binding IP-Adress and DNS-entry and turn UPnP

If this doesent work you can try to set an DMZ to the configuratet Xbox-IP in your Router Admin-Panel.

Or try to connect with a LAN-Kable.

 

When I try to type in my Xbox IP to my router, the router has the first two sections (xxx.xxx) locked in to completely different digits than my Xbox's IP.

Can we rewind for a minute and try to find out why your console is unable to communicate with the DHCP server on your router, to obtain IP configuration.
